Reflections on Marriage: Treasure Hunting

Doing the laundry takes on new meaning when you have a husband in construction.  I absolutely have to dig through the pockets of every piece of clothing in the laundry if I want to salvage our washer/dryer.

When it was just me and my daughter, I would find a gum wrapper or loose change or a piece of fake money from her school which she received as a reward for something like not talking during story time.  But with a husband, especially a manly, grungy, work hard husband, I now find screws, drill bits, loose change, business cards, receipts, and of course, CHECKS and CASH!

I guess it's kind of nice to try to turn in a new dirty chore like laundry as a wife into a scavenger hunt.

Share Time:  What's the funniest, strangest, coolest thing you've found in clothing or the washer and dryer?

One time I washed Kristian's entire wallet and all it's contents. He was not happy.

Haha, too funny! My fiance insists we do our own laundry (he's a weirdo), so I haven't found anything yet. I did manage to wash his swim trunks the other night and found a bunch of change, but that's not so weird. Happy weekend!

sadly, tissue (he keeps at least two in each pocket). imagine what will happen in the washer... yup, making all your clothes swimming in the pool of bits and pieces.

I've found cell phones multiple times before (mine and hubby's). Phew, that would not have been good to send through the wash!

LOL! I haven't found anything weird before, but when I was younger, my dad accidentally washed a red shirt of my mom’s with all of his underwear. So, for a few days, he was stuck wearing pink underwear to his job in an auto machine shop. No one else knew, but he definitely felt ridiculous!

Hahaha.

I don't do Paddy's washing. Any of it. I don't know why, I'm just funny about it.

He washed his passport a few months after we got to Australia.

I once ironed a shirt with a $5 note in the pocket - our notes are plastic - it did not end well.
