Sneak peek pics: Post Wedding Shoot

Last Tuesday I got to put my Maggie Sottero SaBelle gown on one last time and Mr Fix It put on one of his nice black suits and we met up at our wedding venue, Rancho Las Lomas with a wonderfully fun and talented photographer from Las Vegas, Rachel Garcia of Brilliant Imagery

My cousin Amber did up my daughter's hair and makeup - so well in fact that I almost wish I would have had her do it for the wedding, too :)  She did such a great job that we have found a new stylist to help with future dances and such.  Unfortunately, I don't have any sneak peek pics of Little Miss just yet but Rachel tells me she has at least 300 + photos she will be sending us after she has had a chance to edit them.  We spent a little over 2 1/2 hours walking the grounds and trying to come up with some unique poses at locations we missed the first time around.

Unfortunately, Rachel got sick right after the shoot and hasn't had much time to work on editing the images, but she did take a moment to send me over a few quick pics from the evening.  And I have to say that I am so excited to see them all because with just these 7 that she sent over, we already have 6 different locations that we did not hit on the wedding day and the artistic style she was going for has truly sparked our interest to see them all.

This image was a better ring shot than the one we got from the wedding day with Mr Fix It holding the rings out on an orange from the orange orchard.  My daughter was trying to get him to recreate the Twilight book cover but he had no idea what we were talking about :)

While this is not the clearest image, it is kind of cool and I can assure you that we have a good amount more photos coming from this location with us actually looking *at* the camera :)

Both Mr Fix It and I love this photo Rachel took through the gate at the fish pond.   We are actually standing on a little bridge that jets out into the fish pond.
I finally got my infamous shoe shot!

I think this is one of my faves too.
We took several shots at this location which is the main entrance into the reception area.

This is the patio right behind the back of the bridal cottage where we got dressed on the wedding day.  Our original photographer didn't get any shots out here but Rachel took this one as well as several more I can't wait to see!

And probably my fave of all 7 of these shots is this one on the swing.  Not only is it a great shot of us on the swing, but Rachel actually climbed up onto that big branch you see in the foreground (with my cousin's help) to get this angle...something I have not seen of any of the similar shots I have stalked on other photographer's blogs from our wedding venue.  I am adoring this one!  And especially the super cool bouquet that my florist, Allison of Flower Allie did up for me to use during the shoot.  Rachel got lots of pics of it while I was getting dressed so I'll have lots more to share :)

So, as I said, it's just a real brief teaser.  I have a feeling I am going to have lots more super cool shots to show you in the coming weeks when we finally receive the images.  And I just have to say a huge thank you once again to Rachel for offering to do all of this for us to make up for the lack of images and locations we missed out on at the wedding day.  I highly encourage you all to check out her web site and consider her for your future weddings on the west coast...she does travel and had some very unique pose ideas and was so fun, relaxed and easy to work with.

Share time:  Did you decide to do a post wedding or day after shoot?  Why or why not?

Oh S these are beautiful!
I was first a little curious on why you'd go through all the trouble of retaking photos but now I know why! And I cannot wait to see the ones with Little Miss!

These are perfect!

They look fantastic!! Oh I'm so glad you're getting the pics you wanted. I would love to squeeze (and I do mean squeeze) back into my wedding dress for another shoot, but I'm not sure it's in the cards for us. I'll just live vicariously through you!!

These are fabulous, Stacey, and I’m so happy that you finally got the awesome shots you wanted! I’m hoping to do a “rock the frock” session in my gown during the next few months. I reached out to a great photographer yesterday to start looking into it, so we’ll see how things work out.

We were extremely disappointed with our photographer, but since we still have to shell out another $2K for an album we won't like from them, we're not in a place where we want to pay another photographer right now, nor do we really want anything to do with wedding right now. Our terrible photographer experience has made weddings such a sore subject for us. We are, however, thinking of doing a very small vow renewal as early as our 1st anniversary the way we wanted the wedding to be originally; just us and our dogs. We'll see, but I definitely feel the way you do where we want to get the photos the original photographer missed, and hopefully have an altogether better experience with some new, happy memories to replace all the bad ones they've caused.

These look fantastic so far! (I love the shoe shot.) I'm glad you decided to do this. :)

We would have, but our time at our location was so limited. Too bad too because in general, I hate like 80% of our wedding pictures. It's almost okay though because I kind of expected to. Hence why we shelled out the big bucks and traveled for our engagement pictures.

Shoe shot! Love the red shoes.
I'm glad you had a day-after shoot after your last photographer left you disappointed. Glad you took the time to really get the portraits you wanted. They look great!

So love these shots!!!

We ended up not doing it. I thought I would always look at them and know it wasn't really at our wedding and that would bug me.

Although looking at your great shots makes me wish we did do it!
