This Way to the Wedding ---->>

Thanks to Get Married's Blogger Brides (where I was first introduced to the world of blogging), I found this wonderful little shop on Etsy called the Back Porch Shoppe.  I ordered myself a custom made sign in our wedding colors to place on the corner of the street directly across from our venue's entrance.  (You see the street curves around and is a little 2 lane highway leading into a canyon where u-turns are not the easiest thing...so I am hoping this sign on the side of the road will direct guests into the entrance and help them avoid passing our site.)

Now all that's left to do is have Mr Fix It attach some brackets to it so we can hang it on a little stake in the ground.  :)  What do you think?  Are you doing anything like this?  Have you found (or been inspired by) any vintage type looking signs and such to help direct your guests?

That is absolutely gorgeous! I bookmarked the same Etsy shop a while back and I'm waiting to order my "main" sign. I am doing just small signs, kind of like the DIY garage sale signs on little metal feet, for the main highway areas and then nicer signs as you get closer to the venue. Our area is just too populated and people drive like retards around here to chance having a nice sign destroyed.

I really like these signs - your is very nice, and you're lucky to have a man who knows his way around the shop! My dad was a wood shop teacher, so I grew up being spoiled by a man who could fix/build anything I wanted. My fiance is just OK at those sorts of things, though he tries :)

1) if you read my blog then you know I have a little obsession with Etsy! 2) I am actually having my fiance' make me one. He wont decorate it - just the wood part. I'm going to tackle the rest. I might be at the Back porch shoppe Etsy shop faster then..... my brain isn't working this morning so I can't come up with a clever" faster then a....." Sorry, just not witty today:) But LUV the sign!!!!

That looks great! Our reception venue features a cute chalkboard out front, where they’ll write out our wedding info and include an arrow to direct guests.

I'm thinking we're going to need some signs too. You have to wind your way through town to get to the site. But with signs pointing the way, I'm kind of worried about the whole town coming to check out the wedding. The whole town is only made up of 200 people, but there's not a whole lot going on in a town like that so I'm wondering if they'll crash the party. Are you worried about that at all?

I love it and it's perfect for your wedding!
We are doing this too, I was just talking to my brother about it the other day (he carves wood and stuff) but I am going to check out this site, I think it would be so much easier just to order it!

I love the idea especially because we are getting married in the botanic gardens and I want to have it to direct the guests!

I dreamed of having a sign like this for our wedding. But it just wasn't in the budget! It's beautiful and I love it!
