Would you risk your life for a picture?!?

Well, Mr. Fix It thought we should.  Ugh!  So we took our engagement pics at the Montage Resort in Laguna Beach (yes, where the MTV show was filmed).  They have some great gardens, beaches, and artsy walls and such to shoot around.  We hadn't planned on doing an e-pic session but I really wanted some photos of us and my girlfriend is working as a wedding photog's assistant and offered to take them for us for free.  She wanted some experience behind the camera - score for us!

We had a lot of fun with her and her hubby and another girlfriend of mine.  They touched up my hair and makeup, held up the light reflector and generally just made us laugh and whistled at us as we smooched.  I highly recommend this type of session for you gals as it is super fun and actually romantic.

Anyway, Mr. Fix It is afraid of heights.  Funny from such a tough guy but he is.  Now it doesn't mean he won't do a lot of stuff, it just means that when we are up high, he is very nervous and won't always walk to the edge of a mountain we are hiking or whatever.  But on this particular day, he decided that just below one of the places we were standing for pics, there was an amazing little cliff that we could get some great shots off of.  Here's what it looked like getting to the 'spot' he thought would be great - what you can't see is that on the other side of that little brush area he is trying to coax me over to is a little ledge about a foot or so wide...and then a huge drop to the rocks and ocean below!

Disclaimer:  There's some gratuitous kissing in this short little video :)

I have to admit, as freaked out as I was, we got some of my fave shots of the day at this location:

And right after we were done and hopped back over the fence, some staff members from the resort came down and told us we weren't supposed to be on those cliffs and that's why they have a fence up.  Oops.  Alright, so let's hear it...is there anything you did (or would be willing to do) in order to get a great shot?

Those are some great shots! We didn't take any risks, but our photog almost fell out of a wheelbarrow trying to get some bird's eye shots of us! She told us that she is surprised she hasn't seriously injured herself in the name of her work yet.

Oops! Haha. They came out great though!

I wouldn't really call this life threatening, but my FI and I did lie down in the middle of a cobble-stoned street near our apartment during our engagement shoot. It's not a busy street so the photographer just had to keep his eye out for cars. We haven't gotten our pics back yet but I'm sure they look cool!

Wow! I would have been scared, too, but you really did get some incredible shots! At least you got them in before the resort realized you were breaking the rules! LOL :)

For our engagement shots, my sister took some fun pictures at a botanical garden called Gardens of the World, which features garden displays set up to look like those from Japan, England, Italy, etc. Nothing wild and crazy, but still a good time!

Your pictures came out great! The booty grab cracks me up, I was surprised how many of our shots had FI grabbing on my butt. I didn't even notice he was doing it during our shoot. I'm a natural clutz, walking is dangerous for me. :)

These are really cute. Beautiful setting! I think it's funny that he's grabbing your butt in every picture :)

Yeah, I know...of course my mom noticed that, too. I didn't notice he had his hands there through most of the photo session until the pics came back. I guess he just naturally goes there :) I will be much more aware of it come wedding day...thankfully I think the style of my dress will prevent him from being able to put his arms around me like that :) Boys!

I love that he can't keep his hands of your toush! :)
And the fact that he braves it for a beautiful pic...what can I say. He's a keeper.
The only risky thing we did during our photo shoot was run away from cold waves!

photos look like they were definitely worth the risk! during our engagement session, we were under the pier in santa monica and the waves would crash on us, but nothing like you guys :)

That's really beautiful! I think it's worth the risk :) For my engagement pictures we didn't really do anything risky. Although our friend Laura who took the photos almost fell of an edge...that would have horrible.

Oh I want an engagement shoot. Probably a bit late for that now though...

Love that first photo the most. You both look so cute together!

Lovely shots! It looks like you guys had such a beautiful day.

We didn't take any risks really for our e-pics, but we did drive almost 500 miles to have them taken. I fell in love with a photog several states away so we took a road trip. It was a blast!
