Music Monday # 5 (Cake cutting option?)

So I mentioned several weeks ago that I am still struggling to find a song for my own cake cutting (as well as the garter and bouquet toss selections).  If you haven't figured it out from any of my posts or comments, I'm a Christian girl who has been pretty involved in my church for about 10 years now and it is important to me that there is no vulgar or obscene or foul language used in any of the songs we have playing for dancing or what not.  That said, I don't know why I keep finding myself drawn to this catchy dance song for a possible cake cutting option.  Honestly, I think it's a just a bit too risque for me to have playing at my reception, but what do you girls think?

I just love songs with the word 'sugar' in them for cake cutting options...just fits to me for some reason...and I think this is such a fun song...but when you listen to the words, well, hard for me to have that playing at my reception while my impressionable 15 year old daughter will be standing right next to me.  So I am leaning more towards something hard rock and upbeat like this (but probably the original Def Leppard version):

What are your thoughts?  Do you have any songs or genres that you are concerned about?  Or arguing with your honey or family members about to have played during your big day?

How funny...I posted about music today too!! I am stumped on a cake cutting song. I'm kinda in the same boat as you...it can't be anything too vulgar (Disney's rules).

We are trying to stay away from vulgar as well. It's hard, because we both enjoy hip-hop and most of it isn't appropriate for a wedding. I like the second song - it has "sugar" in it like you want, and it's not over-the-top or inappropriate.

We used "How Sweet It Is" by James Taylor...definitely no vulgarity there! Haha!

We’re using the song “Sugar, Sugar” by The Archies during the cake cutting. I think it’s a cute song and a perfect fit. Overall, we’re trying to stick with fun, upbeat songs that don’t have lyrics that could be considered obscene.

We used "how sweet is it" by Marvin Gaye for the cake cutting. Music was definitely a big deal for me--and I was careful with what we played as well--it was hard, especially when some of the more popular song these days are pretty vulgar/crazy when you actually listen/read the lyrics. I'm glad we played it safe though!

My speakers aren't showing me the love today - but I think a song with sugar in the lyrics is a really cute idea for the cake cutting.

I haven't even thought about a song for the cake cutting.... eeekkkk

Hey, We downloaded the radio edit versions to some of our fav hip hop songs to get the party started at the reception.
lots of dancing, but no profanity, or dirty lyrics.

I have a ridiculous fondness for that Def Leopard song (it might have been our college Friday night getting-ready-to-go-out song) and I love the tie in with sugar and cake! Very creative use of song lyrics.

And, I think we're going for the mellow/romantic cocktail hour songs, moving through the grandparent friendly standards, and saving any possibly inappropriate-but-we-love-them-anyhow songs for the post 10pm crowd. It's our wedding, and we want our faves, but we're also being respectful of our guests and the occasion. So, I think you can find a way to sneak a few risque options in if you want.

I like "Ice Cream" by Sarah McLaughlin - such a sweet love song, and still has that confection element.

I like Pour Some Sugar on me, that's a good idea for the song! I personally am not a fan of rap like the first song you posted, so that's the type of music that I am afraid of hearing at my wedding. There are lots of oldies that have sugar in them! I will be using something like that!
